Learning Outcomes for Students from the Dumas Art Project 2024
The Dumas Art Project 2024 provided an enriching and transformative experience for art students involved in the project. Under the guidance of Prof. Rajarshi Smart, Prof. Abhishek Mandala, Prof. Krunal Zaveri, Prof. Arpita day students not only created remarkable art installations but also learned valuable lessons that will contribute to their growth as artists. Here are the key learning outcomes:
1.Creative Collaboration: The students learned how to work collaboratively with peers and professionals, understanding the importance of teamwork in executing large-scale projects. By combining their individual skills and ideas, they experienced how collaborative efforts lead to more complex and innovative creations.
2.Conceptual Development: Students gained experience in developing concepts and themes for their installations, enhancing their ability to communicate ideas through art. The theme "Transcending Boundaries" challenged them to explore deep philosophical and social ideas, pushing their creative thinking and conceptualization skills
3.Material Exploration: Through their installations, students experimented with a variety of unconventional materials such as bamboo, wool, PVC pipes, recycled plastics, and discarded books. This broadened their understanding of material properties, versatility, and sustainability in art, fostering innovative thinking about material usage.
4. Technical Proficiency: The process of designing and constructing installations required students to apply technical skills in sculpture, installation art, and mixed-media art. They learned to handle diverse tools and materials effectively, enhancing their craftsmanship and technical proficiency.
5. Time and Project Management: Participating in the project helped students learn valuable project management skills. They had to work within tight timelines, manage resources, and coordinate with team members, instilling discipline and organizational skills essential for large-scale art projects.
6. Presentation and Curation Skills: Students gained firsthand experience in the presentation and curation of artwork in a professional setting. They learned how to display their work in ways that engage the audience and communicate the intended message, contributing to their understanding of how to present art to the public effectively.

Interacting with key figures like the Municipal Commissioner Shrimati Shalini Agarwal, and curator Sumi Gupta, provided valuable insights into the art industry and future opportunities.
10. Confidence and Professional Growth: Completing their installations and seeing them displayed publicly gave the students a sense of accomplishment and boosted their confidence as emerging artists. The experience encouraged them to take creative risks, experiment with new ideas, and grow both artistically and professionally.
